  • WHERE: REAR YARD
  • Limited to 3 – 30 gallon containers per pick-up

APPLIANCES, WHITE GOODS, METAL (R)

  • WHEN: BY APPOINTMENT (borough of Deal--732.531.1454)
  • WHERE: curbside
  • APPLIANCES CONTAINING FREON (refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, water coolers) are subject to an additional charge of $20 for freon removal, payable to the Borough of Deal. Payment must be made in advance.

BATTERIES, HOUSEHOLD(R)

  • Regular alkaline batteries - dispose with household trash
  • Recharagable batteries - return to location of purchase for recycling
  • "Button" Batteries - Bring to Municipal Offices for disposal

BRANCHES (SMALL) AND BRUSH (R)

  • WHERE: curbside; NOT PILED IN THE GUTTERLINE
  • HOW: CONTAINERIZED

  • HOW: “Broken down” (flattened) and tied into bundles weighing less than 50 lbs.

GRASS

  • Banned from the landfill and will not be picked up.
  • Experts recommend leavings clippings on the lawn.

CHRISTMAS TREES (R)

  • WHEN: January
  • WHERE: curbside only
  • HOW: FREE OF DECORATIONS Not bagged.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE

  • WHERE: MONMOUTH COUNTY RECLAMATION CENTER, SHAFTO ROAD, TINTON FALLS
  • WHAT: Pesticides, herbicides, solvents, paint, pool chemicals, motor oil, antifreeze

LEAVES (R)

  • WHEN: January 1 through September 30
  • WHERE: curbside only
  • WHEN: OCTOBER 1 THROUGH DECEMBER 31
  • WHERE: at the curb
  • HOW: CLEAN PILES OF LEAVES (NO BRUSH or other debris included)

MIXED PAPER (R)

  • WHEN: 1st and 3rd Wednesday
  • WHERE: curbside by 7:00 AM
  • WHAT: Magazines, paperback books, computer paper, catalogs, writing paper, office paper, envelopes, fax paper, non-metallic wrapping paper, real estate books, NCR paper, sales flyers
  • HOW: May either be securely tied in bundles weighing less than 50 lbs. or placed in a covered 30 gallon container
  • NO CEREAL BOXES, PIZZA BOXES, PLASTIC COATED PAPER, PAPER NAPKINS OR TOWELS, BLUEPRINTS; dispose of these items with household trash

NEWSPAPER (R)

  • WHEN: 1st and 3rd Wednesday
  • WHERE: curbside by 7:00 AM
  • WHAT: Newspaper and newsprint
  • HOW: Tied into bundles not more than 12” high weighing less than 50 lbs.

PAINT AND PAINT CANS (T)

  • Open Cars (less that 1" in the can)
  • WHEN: Tuesday and Friday
  • WHAT: Latex or oil based paints
  • WHERE: Rear Yard (place with household trash in containers for disposal)
  • HOW: Remove lid, allowing the liquid to dry.
  • WHAT: Full Cans – Latex or oil-based paint
  • WHEN: BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
  • WHERE: by appointment only at the County Reclamation Center (732)683-8686 (Household Hazardous Waste)

PLANTS (HOUSE) (T)

  • With household trash (does not include outdoor plants, shrub or branch clippings - see BRUSH for proper disposal method)
